News from Congresswoman Deborah Ross

Representative First Last

Dear Friend,

While I am in Washington, D.C. for votes this week, I always love being back in Wake County, meeting with constituents and traveling across the community. I want to take a moment to share an update on what I've been up to recently in North Carolina's 2nd Congressional District.

My Week in Wake County

Volunteering for Tri-Area Ministry Food Pantry

The holiday season is a great time to give back to the community. Ahead of Thanksgiving, I had the opportunity to visit the Tri-Area Ministry (TAM) food pantry, tour their facility, and help pack groceries for clients. TAM is the largest food pantry in the Wake Forest area, serving over 1,600 families each month. I'm grateful for the work that TAM does to combat hunger and food insecurity in Wake County and beyond.

Visiting the new Wake County Emergency Operations Center

Last Congress, I secured federal funding for over 15 projects in our community, including the Wake County Emergency Operations Center. I recently had the opportunity to tour the new state-of-the-art center. I fought for $1 million in federal funding because as Wake County continues to grow, we must ensure we are equipped to respond to any emergency — from public health crises to severe weather.

I was honored to join this visit with the late Wake County Commissioner Dr. James West.

Dr. West was a partner and a friend who made our city, county, and state a better place.

We are forever indebted to Dr. West — one of the best examples of a true public servant.

Touring Lenovo Global Headquarters

This past week I also had the chance to visit Lenovo's North Carolina global headquarters and learn more about their business. The cutting-edge research at Lenovo has helped drive technological innovation and economic growth in North Carolina and beyond. North Carolina companies like Lenovo are breaking new ground every day in science and technology.

Hosting an AI roundtable with Congresswoman Foushee

Earlier this week, I hosted a roundtable with Congresswoman Valerie Foushee to discuss artificial intelligence (AI). We heard from experts and leaders about the diverse benefits of AI as well as some of the concerns and challenges industry leaders are experiencing. As a member of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, I am committed to creating a future where AI enhances the lives of all Americans.

Celebrating NC State Women's Cross Country Victory

As I began my week in Washington, I celebrated the NC State women's cross country team's recent victory, winning their third straight national championship. Far too often women's sports don't receive the recognition and acclaim they deserve. I am proud to represent the Wolfpack and these phenomenal women in Congress. Go Pack!

It was great to be back in North Carolina, and I look forward to the next few weeks in Washington, fighting for the people of Wake County.
