Time and again, we have seen attempts to undercut essential programs North Carolinians rely on – whether it's funding for healthcare, infrastructure, education, or public safety. This latest funding freeze is part of a broader effort to chip away at critical federal support that keeps our state and communities strong. Congress cannot afford to be complacent. Every time essential funding is threatened, it puts families, veterans, disaster relief aid, and businesses at risk. I remain committed to pushing back against these reckless attempts to destabilize our economy and harm the people who depend on us. While the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) funding freeze directive has been rescinded, this fight is far from over.
