The dangers of judge shopping, where a litigant files a suit in a division with a friendly judge, were on full display in Judge Kacsmaryk's unprecedented mifepristone ruling out of Texas. Our country was founded on the principle of blind and impartial justice. Judge shopping directly undermines that fundamental promise. It's unacceptable for plaintiffs to handpick who decides their lawsuit, especially when the ruling will have consequences for all Americans. That's why I introduced a bill with Senator Wyden to end judge shopping and uphold the integrity of our judicial system.
