Dear Friend, While I am back in Washington this week, I recently wrapped up a busy few weeks in Wake County. Dear Friend,

While I am back in Washington this week, I recently wrapped up a busy few weeks in Wake County. I always love being back in North Carolina's Second Congressional District, meeting with constituents and seeing all the great work that’s happening in our community. Here's an update on what I've been up to in North Carolina.

Hosting a Town Hall Meeting in Morrisville

I was grateful to meet with so many constituents at my town hall meeting in Morrisville. I had the chance to share an update on my work for the people of Morrisville -- from fighting for immigration reform to combatting the climate crisis. Thanks so much to Mayor TJ Cawley and everyone else for joining! If you weren't able to attend, make sure to subscribe to my newsletter to stay up to date on future town hall meetings.

Securing Federal Funding for Solar Panels

Last year, I secured funding for 15 community projects across Wake County, and I recently had the chance to celebrate $250,000 that I secured for solar panel installations on Morrisville’s highest energy-consuming facilities. This project will reduce Morrisville’s carbon footprint, save taxpayers money, and serve as an example of the Town's commitment to a cleaner energy future. You can read more about these community projects here.

Defending Reproductive Freedom

On July 1st, North Carolina Republicans' radical abortion ban went into effect. I was proud to stand in support of abortion rights alongside Attorney General Josh Stein, NC Senator Natalie Murdock, NC Representative Julie von Haefen, Jenny Black from Planned Parenthood, and one of our brave health care providers. Here's the bottom line: politicians have no business making decisions about women’s healthcare. We will not stop fighting until we get our freedoms back.

Celebrating Independence Day in Wake County

I had such a wonderful time being out in the community and celebrating the 4th of July in Raleigh, Garner, and Cary. It’s always great to enjoy the holiday with friends and family. Today and every day, we should all be grateful for the freedoms we enjoy and recommit ourselves to fighting for a more perfect union for all Americans.
